start of week 4 – I Just Lost!!

OK we have started week 4 and i have sorted out the EMA yesterday and today i handed in the assignment for carol (this was difficult as i was up early to finish this so it was close).

With Kim 2day we were on the laptops and that was difficult as they don’t really work properly so some people were not able to go on to the web-page that we needed to go on to.

Now i am in sheilas class and i have not got an up to date version of the work so i will have to piece them together when i get home for the hand in on Thursday so it is busy busy busy!!!!!

 

End of week 3

OK so I was late this morning, I have not had luck on my side all this very brief day so far so it has been a bad one so far. We have been doing a lot of work that is quite difficult and we yesterday had Key skills with Sheila and that was a funny lesson we were looking at real letters that were sent in to various government agency’s and they were wrong but funny in the way they were writer and here is one that I have found last night that is a Car Insurance Claim:

“I pulled into a lay-by with smoke coming from under the hood. I realised the car was on fire so took my dog and smothered it with a blanket.”

With carol yesterday we were looking at BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) on the computer and going over the assignment task

Lucy’s lessons today and yesterday were good as i knew how to use Corel PaintShop Pro X (wich if i could i would eradicate the program and the creator out of existence)

I am in sheilas lesson now and later I have Lucy again so to day will be fun

The reason that I was late was due to the fact that I had been up till 02:00 doing work for Carol and Lucy only to have left it on the computer (which is running very well and it is able to cope with the programs that i need that the laptop could not handle well (the motherboard is dead (R.I.P Rubbish Laptop 18/07/2007- 23/07/2008))

start of week 3

We have started the 3rd week and it is a very miserable day not much has happened.

wWe have had Kim and that was going through the assignment task that is for her and sheila and the class was funnyish?

It is still the same as last year but the work is a lot harder but once we have gotten in to it it will get easier.

Day 6

I came in early today and used one of the library computers to complete some work for carol this afternoon and it was great as there was very little noise so i could concentrate a bit more than i would have done at home and i would have done the work at home but the laptop that I used last year has completely broken but at the weekend i will be getting a new and better computer so then i will be able to do the work at home.

Day 5

The start of the second week and it is still easy going and it is still the same as last year.

We started off with wider key skills with Kim and that was the introduction to all the things that she does at the college and all the facilities at the college and we heard about the University trip that was done last year and that she is trying to organise the same thing for us this year.

I am now in Sheila’s class and once again this is part of the MERIT work for Unit 1.

Yesterday I came in to college and saved the work I need in a format that works on the computer and I took out the books that would help me with the course.

Day 4

So we have hit the ground running so to speak we have got an assignment for Lucy and some work for carol to do so I am going to be very busy over the weekend completing college work.

Very Quiet Phone

I really need a new alarm clock as my phone is not loud enough to wake me up as that is now 2 days I have been late and this time it was by 10 mins (I know that is so like me but I am trying to be on time every day).

We have been creating images in MS Paint which despite it being a very basic program is quite difficult to do so but I am part way through the image and it will be up on the blog soon. When it has been completed currently (in Sheilas lesson) and once I have finished this entry I have a bit of work to do for her explaining what a Blog is and the difference between a Blog and a Vlog, apart from the obvious answer that they are on different sites and the 1st letter (that would have been the 1st guess of mine but I can’t use that).

Well I am going to get wet on the way home as it has just started raining (typical British weather).

After this lesson I can go home as the last lesson has been canceled and then I have Monday off and on Tuesday i start at about 12:30 so half day (yay lye-in) and I suppose that the next entry will be on Tuesday in Sheilas next lesson.

Day 3

OK it is the 3rd day i have been home for about an hour but this morning i did over sleep a little so i was at college just under the wire this morning, i walked in to class just after my name was called on the register so that was very close, but the work with Carol this morning was easy as it was stuff that i had done last year on the BTEC First Course so i was able to help one of the others in the class (one of the new ones) with the Wiki so we took it in turns to edit it as there were 2 types of hardware on the page so it was easy, then there was the task where i had to do some drawing (that’s the 1st pic i have drawn for a long time) of how a computer keyboard works and i had a slight bit of difficulty as the website that i used didn’t help that much. i had a 2 hour lunch and that was so boring that i hope hat it is not the same every week. After lunch i went to the next class with Lucy and we were all on time but she was almost 30 mins late so tomorrow we get to leave early as the last lesson has been canceled so we get to leave at about 11:00 so that should be fun.

Back To College

This is the second day back at college and it has been OK and this is the 1st assignment task.

Day 1

I started at 13:00 and it was all OK there are a lot in the class and there is only just enough computers for us all so it will be a nightmare when they start to over heat witch will inevitably happen over time like last year, and i found out that i would have Carol and Sheila again and this is the 1st time that i have had Lucy as a teacher. I met most of the class in the “Ice Breaker” task and then we went on the computers and started using Microsoft office 2007 (the Thorn in my side for the last year!!), after that we looked at the Timetable for the rest of the year, Mondays off (yes!!! this was the worst day for me over the last couple of years) and then Tuesdays and Wednesdays i start at 13:00 (yay half day) and then full days for Thursdays and Fridays. after that we looked at the course hand book and there is a lot of information to look over, then it was the end of the day.

Day 2

Started once again at 13:00 but as i was coming in the gate half an hour early with my bike i saw some friends that are in the other group (i was out of breath as i had just cycled in from Gillingham) when i got in i started i took half the group to the library for the introduction there and when i got back the other half went and we got the same introduction to the work when they got back, i started this section of the blog for the assignment.

Why?

hi it has been a while but i am good i am now going to complain and moan like normal.

Stargate Atlantis

the 5th season has just started over here in the UK we are only 3 episodes in but i am at episode 6 as the show is on you-tube and now the US is on episode 8 so i will now have to wait till the DVD box set is out to watch this season but not only that i now have found out that this is to be the last 20 episodes of the series witch in my opinion is a shame as there is a lot more that could have been done to save the show, for example: have sky one on virgin media and then the show would have had more viewers and then if the show was allowed to run to the 10th episode over here in the UK then the viewing numbers would have been adequate to save the show.

now i have to look forward to the new series Stargate Universe and the prospect of stargate Atlantis and stargate SG1 films witch should keep the franchise alive for years to come if there best case scenario is achieved of 2 SG1 and 2 Atlantis films a year.

speaking of Stargate SG1 last weak i bought myself StargateContinuum and this is one of the best films i have seen this year with the exception of A Dog’s Breakfast this has not yet been released over here in the UK but i have watched it on-line and it is funny well the humor is only sold by the cast witch is almoast all actors from stargate’s SG1 and Atlantis. it was written and Directed by the talented David Hewlett who also plays the part of the character Patrick.

this film also stars Mars the dog who is the dog of David Hewlett.

i have no idea when this film is out but it should be soon so that i can enjoy this film without having to wait for it to buffer on the computer.

 

i go back to college on Tuesday and i have been so board that these last 9 Weeks have been so slow i have had nothing to do but now i have my mountain bike working a bit i now don’t have to worry about paying for transport to college so that makes things a bit cheaper but Tuesday i had to go to my aunts on my bike and the route that i took was about 8 1/2 miles so i have been in a bit of pain but it is getting better.

i have been listening to quite a lot of music over the last couple of months and it has been nice as i have not relay had the time with college and i wont have the time when i go back but i still has been good to listen.
